The legendary Casa Gancia celebrates 170 years
Founded in 1850 by Carlo Gancia, the creator of the first Italian sparkling wine, Gancia is one of the largest producers of sparkling wines, prosecco and vermouths in the world. Gancia is a symbol of "Made in Italy" and is distributed in more than 65 countries.
Gancia sparkling wines come from Langhe-Roero and Monferrato in Piedmont, one of the most highly prized vineyards in the world, inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Gancia’s sparkling wines are aged in the cellars carved out of Canelli’s calcareous tuff centuries ago, known as the "Underground Cathedrals”. The Cellars provide natural thermal insulation with a constant temperature of 12-14 degrees, ideal for the refinement of sparkling wines.
In 2020, Gancia increased global sales volume by over 30%. In Russia, one of its key markets, Gancia became the fastest growing brand in the Italian sparkling wine category in H1 2020. Gancia Asti and Gancia Prosecco grew respectively by 51.7% and by 125% over the same period versus last year, in the most important Russian retailers chains.
To honor the anniversary, Gancia is launching a unique sparkling wine aged for 170 months in a special edition bottle and iconic gift box.
In addition, Gancia is producing Limited Editions gift boxes for Gancia Asti and Gancia Prosecco.
Alongside the celebratory packaging will be a series of online and offline events for consumers and influencers to celebrate the 170th anniversary with Gancia across the world.
